POSITION/TITLE: CNC Maintenance Repair Technician
DEPARTMENT: Internal Operations
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual performs repair station maintenance, preventative maintenance and/or alterations to machining equipment specifically CMM. Performs initial and final testing, alignment, moderate troubleshooting and repair in accordance with the manufactures Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and the repair station manual.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Training in support of product maintenance tasks
Comply with all applicable manufacturing procedures, ISO procedures, and WCQ policies and procedures
Report Failure Trends
Use manufacturers approved data to conduct maintenance tasks
Read, interpret and perform maintenance from electronic drawings and documentation
Inspect all assigned maintenance articles for defects and proper identification
Inspect all repair parts for proper identification
Record work performed in a complete and legible manner to ensure proper traceability
To maintain and repair a variety of machines such as: CNC punch press, Power press brake, CNC HAAS Mill and Lathe, Hydraulic power systems.
Work from maintenance manuals, prints, work orders and instructions from Supervisor.
Perform and record various repair station audits and maintain test equipment
calibration
Meet the published repair labor allotments for the products being worked
Other duties as assigned by manager
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Education Level: (minimum)
A 2‐year technical degree, certificate, or equivalent education in electronics or manufacturing technology
• 3 ‐ 4 years of technical (component‐level) bench repair experience
• Computer proficiency preferred
Core Competencies:
Must have a minimum 5 years¡¯ experience maintaining and trouble shooting production machines in a machine shop environment.
Strong overall troubleshooting skills.
Must have excellent industrial electrical, basic plumbing, mechanical skills, and basic machine shop practices.
Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Associates in Electronics or equivalent military training and experience.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical equipment in a timely manner.
Ability to communicate effectively within the team, to customers, and to management.
Ability to adapt to handle multiple assignments and projects and work to complete them within specified timeframe.
Full understanding of the mechanical aspects of CNC.
Working knowledge in machine repair for CNC mills, lathes, etc.
Capable of electronic repair down to the component, Servo tuning, parameter adjustments, and strong troubleshooting skills on Fanuc/MAZAK controls.
Machine Tool Controls. Servo & Spindle Drive Systems. CNC Machine Tool Systems. Electronic/ Electrical/PLC systems. Pneumatic/Hydraulic Systems. Mechanical Motion Systems (spindles, linear guides, boxed & rotary).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Climate controlled, well‐lit, and secure office/shop environment
Light to moderate physical / lifting of products may be required
40‐hour work week with overtime as needed to support on‐time delivery
