WHAT YOU BRING

Near-native proficiency in one of the following languages: Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), Korean, Vietnamese or Hindi and the ability to communicate in English. 2 + year¡¯s full time or professional Sales or executive level experience, with High School diploma or GED; or College graduate with demonstrated success in GPA and extra-curricular activities. Proficient in MS Office and have a valid state driver¡¯s license and reliable insured transportation.

[Underwriting Consultant] 
– Bilingual Mandarin and/or Cantonese JOB ID: 125037

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 Fluent ability to speak, read and write Mandarin and/or Cantonese
 Bachelor¡¯s degree and a minimum of 3 years life underwriting experience OR a high school diploma witha minimum of 5 years life underwriting experience.
 Demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology; ability to accurately report and interpret MIB codes.
 Proficiency in financial underwriting helpful.
 Active and regular participation in industry related programs – LOMA, ALU, etc.

Position Summary

As a Senior Life Underwriter, you will underwrite applications under general supervision. You will evaluate andtake final action in an independent manner within approval authority guidelines. Approval authority through$1,500,000 and may be given second signature responsibilities.

Organizational Structure

This position reports to a Director within the larger underwriting group.

Performance Objectives

•Analyze complex information and interpret to reach comprehensive medical and financial assessments based oncompany guidelines and policy.
• Request appropriate medical and financial information from agents, doctors, laboratories, inspection companiesand other information sources.
• Analyze underwriting requirements received in order to properly classify risk.
• Correspond, both verbally and in writing, with agents, doctors, laboratories, inspection companies and otherservices as necessary concerning information on applications.
• Interpret MIB Codes and report new MIB Codes.
• Perform all transactions necessary to underwrite pending applications.• Consult with more Senior Underwriters, Chief Underwriter, and Medical Director on cases relating to the riskselection process. Obtain cosigns as required by departmental guidelines.
• Consult with Reinsurance companies on those more complex cases.
Location
Selected candidates will train in Nashville, TN for four weeks then work remotely from home.

As an Agency Director with AIG Financial Network, you will lead a team of both experienced financial services professionals and individuals new to our industry. We accomplish our mission by selling, marketing, and servicing our superior, differentiated insurance products to existing clients and new customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages and supervises a team of 7-10 financial representatives. Works with Managing Director to develop and implement staff business plans to achieve sales and persistency objectives.

Assists in the recruiting and selection of career financial representatives. Trains newly hired representatives on company culture and business philosophy, instruction on sales/service procedures, products, conservation techniques, codes of conduct, and company policies.

Performs joint field work. Assists representatives in refining prospecting techniques and setting appointments. Participates in sales calls with representatives. Assists in the closing of sales for insurance products.

Provides customer service to existing clients by responding to customer inquiries, processing requests, and performance periodic insurance reviews to maintain appropriate customer insurance coverage.

Position Summary

Location

This position is based in Nashville, TN and the preference is to be based in the office. This position isposted nationwide so there are opportunities to work remotely if you do not live in the Nashville area.
