Hyundai Power Transformer, USA Industries has located its first American manufacturing plant in the Montgomery, Alabama area. The plant manufactures 105 to 765 Kv class large power transformers. Seeking resumes for the position of:
Working under direction, the bi-lingual testing engineer should be able to set up and perform mechanical and electrical test and inspections as required for testing medium and large transformers. Evaluate, prepare and report all test results as required by testing instructions. The bilingual testing technician should be able to speak and read Korean and English fluently.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following
- Prepare power transformer for testing; wire connections, cable connections, and prepare testing for “Safe” testing environment.
- Using available test procedures and data to set up test and assist in the evaluation of the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit.
- Execute power transformer tests; composition of test circuit as per check sheet, complete low voltage testing, temperature rise test, and applied voltage test.
- Change test circuits as required to configure power transformer and test equipment for appropriate test.
- Maintain test schedules per customer demands.
- Execute on- site tests as required by the customer.
- Operate test equipment: complete tests per procedure and training; low voltage equipment, static frequency converter, loss measuring equipment, impulse measuring equipment, static frequency converter, PD measurement system, etc. Completes oil sampling during testing.
- Perform repairs on equipment as required. Fabricate, install and test out equipment related to the testing operations.
- Keep test equipment, test areas and all related areas clean and in an orderly fashion.
- Perform daily maintenance review on test equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Guide and assist in training other personnel as needed and where applicable.
- Operate cranes, power lifts and other material moving equipment.
- Support and assist the Quality/Production areas as needed.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A good technical understanding of Electrical Power Equipment (Transformer)
- Good verbal/written communication skills are required
- Ability to effectively respond to and interact with staff at all levels of the organization
- Ability to read electrical schematic blueprints as necessary, and project scheduling.
- Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of electrical, and mechanical systems
- Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly
- Familiar with all current health and safety regulations is a must
